Hi Everyone;
We are shooting for a rare holiday practice this Monday so we can get the team together for the Jan 24 ISF contest.
If it's not raining, let's plan on meeting at Seaside at around 2:15 to start some heats at 2:30 or so. If it rains, we may have to put the team together based on current standings.
We have heard from Matt, JD and Derrick that they will not be available for the contest due to a contest in Santa Cruz. PLEASE let us know if you are available if you did not get a chance to yet. We will text everyone if heats are off okay?
Hope this makes sense. I have a horrible cold and my head is a bit foggy!

Hi All! Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday. Practice resumes Monday, Jan 4 with some free surf. Next contest is Sunday Jan 24 at Army Navy Beach in Carlsbad. A team surfs against La Jolla at 10:30 and B team surfs against LCC at 10:00. We will run practice heats on Monday Jan 11 and Monday Jan 18. As always, parents and helpers are welcome!

Hey all!
Forecast is not looking good for tomorrow. If it is raining, practice is off. We may have to arm wrestle for spots for next weekend's contest! We will keep you posted.

Hi Everyone;
Practice heats will be held next Monday, Dec 7. We will try and start at 3:45 sharp so be there on time ready to go! Sign up in Room 72 before Friday. We will need some help on the beach as well for any parents so inclined.
Contest is set for Sunday, Dec 13 at South Ponto in Carlsbad. SDA A team surfs against Carlsbad A at 7:00 am and SDA B team surfs against Carlsbad B at 8:30! Early but close to home! Let us know if you will not be able to surf this contest.

Hey everyone;
Really good showing at this past contest. Everyone surfed really well. Thanks to Paula and all the parents for all the fantastic food! We definitely had it going on there. Thanks to Tom for the photos too.
Next contest is Sunday, Dec 13 at South Ponto on Carlsbad. Keep an eye out for a special Holiday themed evite for food from Paula for this one.
No practice next Monday over the break. Nov 30 will be practice heats. It's getting dark fast these days so show up ready to go. We will start heats at 3:45 sharp!

Fun scrimmage against LCC! Good food and killer cookies! Thanks everyone for making it a great time. Practice heats are on Monday for the ISF contest at Avalanche Saturday Nov 14. Sign up in Oly's room 72 for a heat. Let us know if you definitely will NOT be available for the ISF contest.

Hi everyone;
Here is the practice heat schedule for the next couple of months:
Monday Nov 9, Monday Nov 30 and Monday Dec 7. Sign up for the practice heats the week before , latest Friday, in Mr.Norris' room number 72. This makes it much easier to put people in heats beforehand. Come prepared to surf, wetsuits on and boards waxed. All other Mondays will be free surf and conditioning. Please remember to check in at EVERY practice so you get points for attendance.

Congrats to the Mustangs for a 2nd place finish in the Red Bull Riders Cup at Upper Trestles on the 7th.
Our NSSA Nationals Team competed at Salt Creek last week in 2ft wind swell. Cooper Jones, Derrick Disney, JD Lewis, Zane Norman, Nick Rowe, Austin Rowe, Alexa Dilley, Alexa Thornton, and Josh Gandulla and turned out and did an amazing job competing against the top 12 schools around the country. By the second day of competition, Derrick, Alexa Thornton, and Josh all made it to the finals and put up some tough competition.
Congrats to our 2008-2009 Surf Team Captain Alexa Thornton for her 6th place finish, Derrick Disney finished 4th in Mens Shortboard, and the 2009 NSSA Mens Longboarding National Champion Josh Gandulla. Our team finished 3rd place overall, congrats and thanks for all of your dedication and hard work this year!
